“Veiled Texture of Shame” is an artistic investigation into the subtleties of interior human emotions. This project intends to provoke viewers to consider the nuanced emotional experiences associated with self-exposure, social expectations, and interpersonal connections by exposing the layers and textures of shame. In this designed performative space, each piece of bark, every thread, and the surrounding net symbolise the subtlety and complexity of internal emotions. From the bark’s fractures to the stitches’ mending, each step examines the shame that may arise when showcasing inner vulnerabilities and how this feeling manifests in the texture.
The performance and video seek to break the silence surrounding shame, encouraging a more open understanding and acceptance of internal emotions. Audiences are invited to immerse themselves in the installation, engaging in a dialogue with self-exposure and shame through observation and experience. We anticipate that viewers will resonate with this visual expression, finding a connection within this shared human emotional experience.
